Our Story

VIP Dog Teams was founded in 2016 by Nancy Mitchell to serve individuals in the Ventura County area. It all started with therapy work at local hospitals and libraries with Brewster and Brady the mini-Labradoodles, after providing meet and greet therapy Nancy soon realized there was a need to offer animal assisted intervention therapy to meet the Goals of those served.

Determined to set new standards and ensure the quality and safety of services in the field of animal assisted intervention therapy, VIP Dog Teams is proud of their G.O.T Therapy dog teams.

VIP Dog Teams: Empowering Communities

with Goal-Oriented Therapy Dogs!

At VIP Dog Teams, we've redefined the role of certified therapy dogs by taking them directly into our community to facilitate goal-oriented interventions. Our program is distinct, focusing on under-served needs and aiming to make a meaningful impact through Goal-Oriented Therapy Dogs (G.O.T).

How does it work?

Tailored Interventions:

Our therapy dogs become part of goal-directed interventions, tailoring their interactions to address specific therapeutic or educational objectives.

Motivational Partners:

Dogs serve as motivators, inspiring and encouraging clients to reach their goals in a positive and engaging manner.

Collaboration with Professionals:

We collaborate closely with therapists and teachers to ensure that each intervention is aligned with the individualized goals set for the clients.
